Finding beauty in simplicity

I've always been fascinated with photography.  Not simply because I think it's artsy(although it's a fantastic art form) but because it captures memories. Moments we want to capture for whatever reason. Maybe it's beauty, or lack there of.  A photograph should be moving and pull out some kind of emotion from you, good or bad. When I look at a photo I can't help but wonder what the photographer wanted to share with others. As an art form we all can interpret images differently based on our own perceptions.  Something that is beautiful to someone can be hideous or boring to another. Maybe it's a photograph of someone you know, in this case you're more likely to have a tied emotion to it based on your relationship with them, whereas a stranger wouldn't look twice at the image.

Think about this; if your own eyes were a camera and you could share images of what you see or maybe past memories of places or people. What would you want to share with others?

Here are a few photos I took on a spring morning:

These blooms only last days, so I wanted to capture their beauty this year before they blew away with the wind. They're simple, but thats what I love about these photos. So often in life I focus on the wrong things, I stress, I start to doubt myself, I get into a rut of negativity.  I forget to appreciate the small things in life that add so much beauty to our world.  Every time I look at these photographs I'm reminded that there is beauty all around us if we just take the time to look.  I really believe if you can find the beauty in life, even through the littlest things, you will always experience joy. So, next time you're feeling down or stressed, go outside. There's so many beautiful things that the world has to offer. Go experience it!

"While in my state of placidity
I watch in awe as nature works it's wonders
I see the trees dancing to the wind's soft, sweet song
A host of birds announcing the end of a wondrous day
An array of brightly colored flowers
Flaunt their beauty to the world
The pillow-like clouds, like sheep, graze in a large blue meadow
And hide the seemingly shy sun."
